'Wild Game' (2022)

Is the title referring to wild game as what hunters stalk and kill? Here, both lion and zebra would be prey. This is unlikely as zebras and lions usually do not feature as joint prey of big game hunters. The title could mean that this is a manipulative, sexual game (as in "gaming the system") involving a lion-as-male overpowering a zebra-as-female. Here the zebra would be the prey.
The zebra tries to kick in defence against the lion. But it could also be the zebra acting provocatively, even sexually provocatively, where the lion is the prey. Indeed, this could be a dance (as in a game involving entertainment and fun). But would the "wild" aspect steer the game away from a situation of equality between the two players towards becoming out of control, or out of control of one of the two parties? Here the question of who is predator and who is prey becomes indeterminate.
Please be advised, a tray frame would add about an inch to the size of the canvas.
