'Two Figures and Clockwork Toy' (2023) 39" x 39"

Acrylic on Canvas

100cm x 100cm

Acrylic on canvas. Unframed.

Here I am depicting childhood as a circuit of drives and urges. An ape-like early psychoanalytical theorist operates the steering wheel that is fixed onto female stockinged legs into which the toy man tries to insert an electric cable originating from the loins of the lurking genie. The image contains the harmonious opposites of - orange, mauve, light blue and dark crimson. Despite this colour agreement, there is a challenging message about psychoanalytic meaning.

Please be advised, a tray frame would add about an inch to the size of the canvas.

Screen colours can vary among computers, so please know that there may be a slight variation in real life. Every effort has been made to represent the artwork most accurately to the original painting.
