Myself then and now. How sentimental, to present this touching contrast! Obviously the elderly gent is fond of the youthful former self, though probably embarrassed by much, but stumbling towards a kind of mirthful forgivingness. Left behind? Good question! The past haunts, though I would say it is mostly other past figures rather than oneself, who has been got safely onboard, to continue the process ofself-repair and self-presentation.
In this piece, I had a bit of fun exploring the quirks of identity and connection through abstract forms, depicting both my younger and older selves. The figures, all tangled up yet somehow giving each other a thumbs-up, might just be the ultimate duo for those awkward moments we all know too well. What do you think they're saying to each
