Playing with scale and viewpoint, so that the baby is father to the man, who is nudged by an over-sized cat, though the public gets a more restricted view. The visual scale inversion belittles the artist/self-portrait. The viewpoint is from backstage, and so the audience cannot see what we can see. The audience can only see the central character, the artist/self-portrait. They do not know or cannot see or the artist hopes that they are not able to see...certain things.
Please be advised, a tray frame would add about an inch to the size of the canvas.
